Abstract
La gestión eficaz de los dispositivos médicos es esencial para garantizar la calidad y la seguridad de la atención hospitalaria. En Honduras, la falta de un sistema integrado de trazabilidad limita el control y mantenimiento de estos dispositivos, afectando la eficiencia de los servicios de salud.
Este estudio compara dos plataformas digitales, MaintainX y Airtable, evaluando su aplicabilidad para la trazabilidad y gestión del ciclo de vida de dispositivos médicos en hospitales públicos. Se analizaron aspectos como la facilidad de uso, la eficiencia operativa, la comunicación interdepartamental y la viabilidad técnica por medio de pruebas piloto y encuestas al personal clínico.
Los resultados demuestran que la implantación de sistemas digitales mejora significativamente la monitorización y el mantenimiento de los equipos, optimizando los recursos y mejorando la calidad de los servicios médicos.
Este estudio aporta recomendaciones para la adopción de tecnologías que refuercen la gestión biomédica en entornos hospitalarios de países en vías de desarrollo.
Effective management of medical devices is essential to ensure quality and safety in hospital care. In Honduras, the lack of an integrated traceability system limits timely control and maintenance of these devices, affecting the efficiency of health services. This study compares two digital platforms, MaintainX and Airtable, evaluating their applicability for traceability and lifecycle management of medical devices in public hospitals. Aspects such as ease of use, efficiency, interdepartmental communication, and technical feasibility were analyzed through pilot tests and surveys of healthcare personnel.
