Abstract
This study assessed the digital maturity of the Universidad Tecnológica Centroamericana (UNITEC) through a documentary analysis aimed at identifying strategies, barriers, and the degree of alignment with a nine-dimension model. The objective was to determine the institutional maturity level and prioritize actions to advance from the availability phase to integration. An operationalization matrix was built, and strategic plans, policies, infrastructure reports, and training records were analyzed; findings were triangulated with semi-structured interviews of key stakeholders. The analysis is descriptive statistics, and thematic qualitative analysis to synthesize relevant findings. Results showed a heterogeneous development: strengths in academic digital services and technological base, and notable weaknesses in ICT governance, funding, and organizational culture. Governance and human capital accounted for a substantial portion of the variation in the global index. It was concluded that UNITEC was in a transition phase toward digital integration, and it was recommended to prioritize governance policies, sustained budget allocation, and faculty and administrative training programs.
