Abstract
El presente Trabajo Final de Graduación tuvo como propósito formular un perfil de proyecto para el diseño y construcción de una terminal de buses en el municipio de Cantarranas, Francisco Morazán, a fin de dar solución a la carencia de infraestructura adecuada para el transporte interurbano y al desorden vial que afectaba la movilidad y el desarrollo urbano. El objetivo central fue evaluar la viabilidad técnica, social y ambiental de la propuesta, orientándola al cumplimiento de criterios de accesibilidad, seguridad y sostenibilidad. La investigación se realizó mediante un proceso metodológico mixto, que combinó encuestas a usuarios, entrevistas a autoridades y operadores, observación directa y análisis documental, lo que permitió integrar información cuantitativa y cualitativa para una visión integral del problema. Los resultados mostraron que la población priorizó la construcción de una terminal con bahías organizadas, sala de espera techada, servicios sanitarios y accesibilidad universal, además de la necesidad de ubicar la infraestructura en un punto estratégico para mejorar la movilidad. Se concluyó que el proyecto era técnica y socialmente viable, recomendándose su ejecución inicial en obra gris con fases de expansión progresiva que aseguren sostenibilidad ambiental, accesibilidad e integración urbana.
This Final Graduation Project aimed to formulate a project profile for the design and construction of a bus terminal in the municipality of Cantarranas, Francisco Morazán, in order to address the lack of adequate interurban transport infrastructure and the traffic disorder that limited mobility and urban development. The main objective was to evaluate the technical, social, and environmental feasibility of the proposal, oriented towards meeting accessibility, safety, and sustainability criteria. The research was carried out through a mixed methodological process that combined user surveys, interviews with authorities and operators, direct observation, and documentary analysis, which allowed the integration of quantitative and qualitative information for a comprehensive view of the problem. The results showed that the population prioritized the construction of a terminal with organized bays, a covered waiting area, sanitary facilities, and universal accessibility, in addition to the need to locate the infrastructure in a strategic point to improve mobility. It was concluded that the project was technically and socially feasible, and it was recommended to implement it initially in a gray work stage with progressive expansion phases, ensuring environmental sustainability, accessibility, and urban integration.
