Abstract
La investigación abordó la optimización del cálculo de materiales y la gestión de residuos en el sector de la construcción en Honduras. El estudio identificó deficiencias significativas en la planificación de materiales y el manejo de residuos, destacando la falta de infraestructura adecuada, el uso predominante de métodos tradicionales y la escasa adopción de tecnologías avanzadas como BIM. A través de un análisis detallado, se propuso el seguimiento de la Guía de estrategias integradas para la Optimización del Cálculo de Materiales y Gestión de Residuos en la Construcción en Honduras (GEICHO), la cual combinó metodologías como Lean Construction, principios de economía circular y herramientas tecnológicas, con el objetivo de reducir costos, minimizar el impacto ambiental y mejorar la eficiencia operativa en los proyectos de construcción. Estas estrategias fueron diseñadas para ser aplicables a empresas de diferentes tamaños, con énfasis en pequeñas y medianas constructoras, buscando así fomentar prácticas sostenibles y competitivas en el sector.
The research addressed the optimization of material estimation and waste management in the construction sector in Honduras. The study identified significant deficiencies in material planning and waste management, highlighting the lack of adequate infrastructure, the predominant use of traditional methods, and the limited adoption of advanced technologies such as BIM. Through a detailed analysis, the implementation of the Guide Of Integrated Strategies for fhe Optimization of Material Estimation and Waste Management in Construction in Honduras (GEICHO) was proposed. This guide combined methodologies such as Lean Construction, principles of circular economy, and technological tools to reduce costs, minimize environmental impact, and improve operational efficiency in construction projects. These strategies were designed to be applicable to companies of different sizes, with an emphasis on small and medium-sized construction firms, thus fostering sustainable and competitive practices in the sector.
