Abstract
This study presents a pre-feasibility proposal for the opening of a Distribution Center (CEDI) for Pinturas Americanas in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Currently, the company operates from a single distribution center in Comayagua, which results in logistical inefficiencies, high transportation costs, and the loss of customers due to delayed service. Through a comprehensive analysis from logistical, financial, and customer service perspectives, the current model's deficiencies are identified, and the viability of a decentralized operation is assessed. The findings show that establishing a CEDI in Tegucigalpa would reduce delivery times by up to 75%, enable more effective service to key accounts, and significantly enhance the company’s competitiveness in the region. It is concluded that the proposal is feasible, and its implementation is recommended to ensure sustainable growth.
