Abstract
This study explored the feasibility of implementing an MRI service at the Central Military Hospital in Honduras to provide patients with more accurate and timely diagnoses. The main objectives included analyzing supply and demand, conducting technical and financial evaluations, and designing a detailed implementation plan. The study was descriptive, non-experimental, and cross-sectional, with a quantitative approach. It involved a sample of 384 residents from the Central District Municipality and 367 active doctors, using a 5% margin of error and a 95% confidence level. Surveys were conducted via Google Forms and analyzed with Microsoft Excel. The findings revealed that 59.9% of respondents had previously needed MRI studies, and 28.7% were willing to pay between L 5,000 and L 9,000 for the service. Additionally, 89.6% expressed interest in receiving information about its availability. These results indicate a strong demand and widespread interest in the proposed service. The study concludes that implementing an MRI service at the hospital is both feasible and profitable, especially if it is made available to external patients. It recommends developing a comprehensive business plan and strengthening communication strategies to position the hospital as a national leader in healthcare.
