Abstract
Este informe analizó la Evaluación de operaciones logísticas ante desastres naturales de
tipo hidrometereológicos en Valle de Sula, Honduras. Un país altamente vulnerable a fenómenos
como sequias, huracanes e inundaciones ocasionado con mayor intensidad debido al cambio
climático y sus efectos devastadores. A pesar de contar con una planeación anticipada, se
identificaron brechas en la coordinación y la infraestructura logística, lo que limitó la efectividad
de la asistencia y puso en riesgo la seguridad de las comunidades afectadas. La investigación
evaluó estas oportunidades de mejora y propuso recomendaciones en áreas clave, como la
capacitación de personal, el fortalecimiento de la infraestructura y la implementación de protocolos
de coordinación entre actores locales e internacionales. Se destacó la necesidad de optimizar la
gestión de recursos y aplicar lecciones aprendidas para garantizar una respuesta más eficaz en
futuros fenómenos. El estudio concluyó que, al implementar estas recomendaciones, El Valle de
Sula en Honduras podría mejorar su capacidad para enfrentar desastres, salvaguardando así la vida
y el bienestar de su población. En resumen, el informe subrayó la crucial importancia de una
gestión logística adecuada en la mitigación del impacto de desastres naturales en el país.
This report analyzed Evaluation of Logistic Operations in Response to Hydrometeorological Natural Disasters in Valle de Sula, Honduras. A country that is highly vulnerable to phenomena such as droughts, hurricanes, and floods, which are exacerbated by climate change and its devastating effects. Despite advance planning, gaps in coordination and logistical infrastructure were identified, limiting the effectiveness of assistance and jeopardizing the safety of affected communities. The research assessed these opportunities for improvement and proposed recommendations in key areas, such as training personnel, strengthening infrastructure, and implementing coordination protocols between local and international actors. It highlighted the need to optimize resource management and apply lessons learned to ensure a more effective response to future events. The study concluded that by implementing these recommendations, the Sula Valley could enhance its capacity to cope with disasters, thereby safeguarding the lives and well-being of its population. In summary, the report underscored the crucial importance of effective logistics management in mitigating the impact of natural disasters in the country.
