Abstract
The research conducted in the Santa Fe Substation area of the National Electric Energy Company (ENEE) focused on the analysis and design of a management model for hazardous waste derived from maintenance activities at the electrical substation, with the purpose of preventing environmental and occupational health risks. Information was collected through direct observation, document review, interviews with technical personnel, and on-site data collection. The results revealed the need to implement control measures that ensure compliance with current environmental regulations and reduce the risk of soil and water contamination, as well as personnel exposure. As the sole proposal, a collection center was designed for the temporary storage of hazardous waste, accompanied by technical and administrative guidelines that make up a comprehensive waste management model, aimed at improving current operational practices, strengthening environmental control, and promoting safe and sustainable management within ENEE.
