dc.description.abstractLa fragilidad y el deterioro funcional aumentaron significativamente el riesgo de dependencia, caídas y disminución de la calidad de vida en adultos mayores. Frente a este desafío, las pruebas funcionales como el SPPB y el programa de ejercicios VIVIFRAIL han permitido evaluar y monitorizar de manera objetiva la capacidad funcional en esta población. Considerando lo anterior, se desarrolló una metodología para la estructuración y FAIRificación del dataset MOTIVA, compuesto por datos inerciales recopilados durante la realización de dichas pruebas. Los principios FAIR sirvieron como base para garantizar que los datos pudieran ser localizados, accedidos, integrados y reutilizados de manera efectiva. La metodología incluyó la curación semántica, la creación de un esquema de metadatos siguiendo el estándar DDI, la incorporación de licencias y la implementación de mecanismos de conectividad. La evaluación se realizó mediante un enfoque híbrido, combinando la herramienta automática FAIR-Checker, que reflejó múltiples limitaciones, y un código propio desarrollado a partir de métricas FAIR, logrando un cumplimiento global del 80%. Este resultado permitió proponer acciones de mejora dirigidas al CTB, orientadas a facilitar la futura publicación del recurso en e-cienciaDatos. Asimismo, se aportó una pauta metodológica para la estructuración y FAIRificación de datasets inerciales, que podrá servir de referencia para futuras investigaciones que utilicen este tipo de datos, más allá del caso específico de la evaluación funcional o del envejecimiento saludable.
dc.description.abstractFrailty and functional decline have been shown to significantly increase the risk of dependency, falls, and reduced quality of life among older adults. To address this challenge, functional tests such as the Short Physical Performance Battery (SPPB) and the VIVIFRAIL exercise program have provided objective means to assess and monitor functional capacity in this population. To address this challenge, a methodology was developed for the structuring and FAIRification of the MOTIVA dataset, which consists of inertial data collected during the performance of these assessments. The FAIR principles served as a foundation to ensure that the data could be effectively found, accessed, integrated, and reused. The methodology involved semantic curation, the design of a metadata schema following the DDI standard, the incorporation of licenses, and the implementation of interoperability mechanisms. The evaluation was conducted through a hybrid approach, combining the FAIR-Checker automatic tool—which revealed multiple limitations—with custom-developed code based on FAIR metrics, achieving an overall compliance of 80%. This outcome enabled the proposal of improvement actions to the CTB, aimed at facilitating the future publication of the resource in e-cienciaDatos. Moreover, this work provides a methodological guideline for the structuring and FAIRification of inertial datasets, which could serve as a reference for future research involving this type of data, beyond the specific case of functional assessment or healthy aging.
