Abstract
El área de enfermería del Instituto Nacional Cardiopulmonar es parte de los recursos asistenciales esenciales para el sistema de salud, el personal se ve afectado por agotamiento, fatiga, extensas jornadas laborales. El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar cómo la carga laboral influye en el desempeño del personal de enfermería profesional y auxiliar del Instituto Nacional Cardiopulmonar. El enfoque de esta investigación fue cuantitativo, el diseño no experimental, transversal, se recopilaron los datos en un momento por medio de un cuestionario de carga laboral generado por la NASA aplicado a personal de enfermería con a una muestra de 62 participantes y evaluaciones de desempeño realizadas por los jefes inmediatos de las salas antes mencionadas, con un alcance descriptivo. Por medio del análisis de resultados se encontró que la carga laboral no influye en el desempeño del personal de enfermería a pesar de presentar niveles altos de carga laboral física de un 58%, mental con 66% y temporal de un 56% el personal de enfermería, presentaron evaluaciones de desempeño destacadas. Se demostró la dedicación y compromiso del personal. La carga laboral del personal de enfermería es alta, el manejo de pacientes en estado crítico es demandante, aunque su evaluación de desempeño laboral es muy buena, se recomienda balancear la carga de trabajo, incorporar pausas activas, proporcionar apoyo psicológico y programas de bienestar. Introducir herramientas tecnológicas y desarrollar un área de descanso apropiada.
The nursing area of the National Cardiopulmonary Institute is part of the essential care resources for the health system, the staff is affected by exhaustion, fatigue, long working hours. The objective of this study was to evaluate how workload influences the performance of professional and auxiliary nursing staff at the National Cardiopulmonary Institute. The focus of this research was quantitative, the design was non-experimental, cross-sectional, data were collected at one time by means of a workload questionnaire generated by NASA applied to nursing staff with a sample of 62 participants and performance evaluations carried out by the immediate managers of the aforementioned wards. with a descriptive scope. Through the analysis of results, it was found that the workload does not influence the performance of the nursing staff, despite presenting high levels of physical workload (58%), mental workload (66%), and temporary workload (56%), the nursing staff presented outstanding performance evaluations. The dedication and commitment of the staff was demonstrated. The workload of nursing staff is high, the management of patients in critical condition is demanding, although their evaluation of work performance is very good, it is recommended to balance the workload, incorporate active breaks, provide psychological support and wellness programs. Introduce technological tools and develop an appropriate rest area.
