Abstract
The purpose of this research project is to analyze the economic feasibility of purchasing a pyrolysis plant that converts various types of plastics into fuel, aiming for to greater way to reduce plastic waste that is neither processed nor recycled, or, in the worst case, ends up adversely affect the natural environment of Honduras. To put into effect this analysis, quotations have been obtained for four different models of pyrolysis plants with varying capacities for processing plastic waste. Additionally, primary information has been gathered from sources such as documents shared by consultants from the quoted companies. Furthermore, projections have been made for the plastic waste processing capacities of each pyrolysis plant model over a five-year period in relation to the revenue generated from the converted fuel that can be sold within the same timeframe. Likewise, the minimum expenses required by the plant, such as energy consumption and labor costs, have been included. Through these projections, we were able to determine the return on investment and the costbenefit ratio for each pyrolysis plant model, resulting in the economic feasibility of purchasing a pyrolysis plant.
