dc.descriptionWe are close to the end of the year that commemorates the bicentennial of independence from Spain. The beginning of republican life was a tumultuous time, but necessary in the framework of the Central American historical context. It may seem that independence from the Spanish Empire was the conclusion of a process of enlightenment and emancipation, although it marked the beginning of a process, and for this reason it deserves recognition as a milestone. However, we must bear in mind that the independence of the European political domain did not imply the settlement of its cultural and academic influence.en-US
dc.descriptionEstamos próximos a la conclusión del año que conmemora el bicentenario de la independencia de España. El inicio de la vida republicana fue una época tumultuosa, pero necesaria en el marco del contexto histórico centroamericano. Puede parecer que la independencia del Imperio español fue la conclusión de un proceso de ilustración y emancipación, aunque en realidad marcó el inicio de dicho proceso, y por ello merece la pena su reconocimiento como hito. No obstante, debemos tener presente que la independencia del dominio político europeo no implicó el finiquito de su influencia cultural y académica.es-ES
