dc.descriptionClinical trials represent the penultimate step in the hierarchy of scientific evidence and are crucial in developing new therapies. Therefore, rigorous design and ethical considerations must be implicit in all scientific inquiry's construction and review process. During scientific research, the ethical component is crucial and must be prioritised over any other interest. When designing a study and in its subsequent evaluation, the ethics committee must independently assess the ethical justification of the study. In other words, the result of the ethical review must be framed using human rights standards, must be independent and complete, regardless of the country where the study is carried out.en-US
dc.descriptionLos ensayos clínicos representan el penúltimo escalón de la jerarquía de la evidencia científica y son esenciales en el desarrollo de nuevas terapias. Por ello, la rigurosidad en el diseño y las consideraciones éticas deben estar implícitos en todo proceso de construcción y evaluación de conocimiento. Durante la investigación científica, el componente ético además de ser crucial también cumple con un rol prioritario sobre cualquier tipo de intereses. Al momento de diseñar un estudio y su posterior evaluación, el comité responsable de cumplir con la evaluación ética debe valorar de manera independiente la justificación ética del mismo. Es decir, que el resultado de la evaluación ética, además de estar enmarcada en el respeto a los derechos humanos, debe ser independiente e íntegra, indistintamente del país donde se ejecute el estudio.es-ES
