| dc.description | Introduction. Migratory movements have been a great concern since 2010, 80,000 Hondurans a year have traveled abroad in the last 10 years. The study aim was to evaluate and validate whether there are relationships between the growth of migration and poverty, unemployment and insecurity in Honduras. Methods. Official data was used. The sample was the Honduran population of 11 years from 2009 to 2019, with 10 periods (∑ n years -1 = n periods). Several correlation models of four variables were generated in the E-views program: migration, as the dependent variable and poverty, unemployment and insecurity, as the independent variables. Results. There was a direct relationship between people who migrated from the country and levels of poverty, employment and insecurity that prevailed in the community. A direct relationship was found between migration and the trend in the number of homicides, being R² 0.983118, even though the trend of underemployment was very significant when reaching a R² 0.796188 and the degree of poverty influenced the R² 0.50874561. Conclusion. The variable relationships showed a cause-effect dependence between insecurity and migration, reflected in the number of citizens living abroad today. This relationship requires the definition of a public policy that addresses the fact that, in addition to poverty and unemployment, there is an even more alarming phenomenon, the anxiety and desire for protection of the individual who feels threatened. | en-US |
| dc.description | Introducción. Los movimientos migratorios han marcado una gran preocupación a partir del 2010, ya que unos 80,000 hondureños al año viajaron al exterior en los últimos 10 años. El objetivo del estudio fue evaluar y validar si existen relaciones entre el crecimiento de la migración y la pobreza, el desempleo y la inseguridad en Honduras. Métodos. Se utilizó datos oficiales, siendo la muestra la población hondureña de 11 años de 2009 a 2019, con 10 periodos (∑ n años -1 = n periodos). Se generó en el programa E-views varios modelos de correlación de cuatro variables: la migración, como variable dependiente y la pobreza, el desempleo y la inseguridad, como las variables independientes. Resultados. Existe una relación directa entre las personas que migran del país y los niveles de pobreza, de empleo e inseguridad que priva en la comunidad. Se observó que existe una influencia muy marcada entre la migración y el comportamiento del número de homicidios, siendo de R² 0.983118, aun cuando el comportamiento del subempleo fue muy significativo al alcanzar un R² 0.796188 y el grado de pobreza influyó en el R² 0.50874561. Conclusión. La relación de variables mostró una dependencia causa-efecto entre inseguridad y migración, reflejada en el número de ciudadanos que viven hoy en el exterior. Esta relación requiere la definición de una política pública que aborde el hecho de que, además de la pobreza y el desempleo, existe un fenómeno aún más alarmante, la ansiedad y el deseo de protección del individuo que se siente amenazado. | es-ES |
